Charge your customers by the variable size of the item they are ordering. Calculate prices on items which are priced, e.g. by the foot, by the inch, by the gallon, or other units of measure.
The module also eliminates the common hack that stores have used which involved using the number of the items added to the basket to adjust charges. This module allows the customer to specify the length/size/amount of an item's attribute on the product (PROD) screen and still be able to order more than one of that item. Not for upsell products. For example, ordering four 24 inch cables involves entering 24 in the length attribute and entering 4 in the add to basket quantity input.
The store owner determines the storewide number of free units (if any), and the lowest and the highest values that can be used in the measurement. The store ownercan also use price groups to vary the size pricing for applicable customers. The attribute type is text. Itcannot be a template. The attribute prompt can read whatever the store owner desires to direct the customerto enter the numeric measurement. If you are using ourAttribute Prompt vs Code module, that prompt will also display on the basket, invoice and emails instead of the attribute code. The store owner's settings are configured in admin.
The customer enters the size/length/amount of units and the module calculates the price based on the entered number times the price of the attribute.
The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server and permissions are set correctly on the data directories. This would be the case in most of the server setups. If you are using Merchant 5.x and your host is web.com, you will not be able to use this module due to the way they configure their servers. There are no known issues with other hosts.
Emporium Plus creates and licenses plugin modules for Miva Merchant, a highly extensible eCommerce shopping cart application for the Internet.
